Hi friends!
Today you should get two emails (sorry!!) — the first, this one, to alert you that here at Don’t Rock The Inbox we’re taking our talents to Ghost. The reasons are myriad; mostly, we don’t want any of your hard-earned money to subsidize the work of people whose values we find reprehensible (Substack, if you weren’t aware, took 10% of every subscription payment) or a company who won’t deplatform (and in fact profits from) the presence of Nazis, transphobes and all the rest. We won’t even go into the day Laura Loomer became a (free) DRTI subscriber (presumably just engagement baiting, don’t worry we blocked her immediately).
Anyway! Ghost is a nonprofit with (we hope, we pray) fewer political entanglements. More of a platform than a company with a (troubling) editorial perspective. Our archive is over there now (with…a lot of broken links), and we’re in the slow process of getting everything cleaned up.
We’re hoping the transition is as seamless as possible, but this being technology we’re not banking on it. If 1) you don’t also get a recommendations email from us this morning or 2) you visit us on Ghost, click the “Sign In” button and notice anything amiss with your subscription, please let us know at dontrocktheinbox@gmail.com. It may take us a second to get back to you, but obviously we want to get everything resolved as quick as we can so we can focus on the music!! If you are a paying subscriber and don’t get this post in your email, that’s actually not a bad sign; we had to delete all the paying subscriber accounts so Substack doesn’t pester you.
Thank you for your patience during this transition!! We couldn’t do this without you! Again, we’re at www.dontrocktheinbox.com. :)
